Mike and Matt specialise in infrastructure planning and delivery for local government across regional and rural NSW,

We have managed countless local government projects, from inception right through to handover and maintenance. Mike and Matt have worked at all levels, from project scoping, project procurement, contract superintendent through to senior management responsibilities as Project Manager and Project Director. Mike is also very experienced in dispute resolution.

From tender concept to funding requests, construction management and final handover, Mike Brearley & Associates can provide project management for all stages of your project.

We work closely with client Councils, government regulators and other specialist consultants to deliver your water and sewerage strategic planning needs.

We are the principal authors of the Water and Sewerage Strategic Plan for Cobar Shire Council and Cobar Water Board and are working closely with NSW Public Works to deliver Strategic Plans for nine other Local Water Utilities across regional and rural NSW.

We appreciate that strategic planning can be an expensive and resource-hungry commitment for smaller local water utilities, where there are limited resources and heavy day-to-day operational commitments. We understand the challenges faced by Councils in rural and regional NSW and will work collaboratively with you and other specialist consultants to deliver the best value outcome for you.

Mike has audited dozens of water utilities water and sewerage performance reporting, and in 2016, Mike Brearley and Associates developed the handbook for Performance Data Audits for smaller councils to meet their reporting and data obligations.

We utilise the asset management tools that are the most appropriate for your organisation. We assist with the asset management education management program for IPWEA and utilise the NAMS+ toolkit. We also collaborate with specialist consultants to build your digital asset management system from scratch.
